The Other Two Best Friends
Ten years of becoming the best of 'couple' friends..did everything together - trips, holidays, children dated each other. They were part of the family. One knows many intimate things about family members including the man vs wife stress. We were all friends. It's just that two of us became very close friends in large part due to two very unsuccessful long standing marriages. The other two became suspicious at times causing tension for the group. They accused us years before anything happened because we connected with each other so intensely; not hiding it well from any others. At the summit of no marital sex for him and my loneliness from spouse drinking incessantly - it happened. It was the best thing that ever happened to me while it lasted. You know the feeling. He was everything to me long before IT happened. His son died and that began his spiral into depression that even I could not help. He could not leave her under these circumstances... they still did not know....I could not leave because of quilt....he responded by announcing to his wife he was leaving her for another woman. My husband informed me and I went upstairs to pack my bags. Jams did not mean me. He picked a name of a fan who offered him a drink at a gig because he looked so miserable. I helped his wife get him back; watched her agony while dying inside. We all sympathized with her. No one noticed my pain. They are still together in some fashion. I mourn the loss of our group friendship. She was my friend too. I never see them.
I met him when my husband introduced me.
I will miss his incredible sense of humor; his massive good looks and wonderful musical talent. I miss going to concerts to hear him perform.
There is nothing to not miss. I miss it all
I will die happy that I had that magical, wonderful time with ultimate love and connection.
I am disappointed that chances are I will not have the magic again. I think you're lucky if you get it once in a lifetime.
His wife and my husband survive. He is crippled and I am mostly dead.
It was worth all of it (I guess)
